It's Not Too Early to Make Fall Hawkwatching Plans!

We are often asked where you can go to see raptors in the wild.  One of the best places is Hawk Ridge in Duluth, MN.  Each fall, thousands of raptors migrate over the area.  We'd like to pass along information about their annual Hawk Weekend, September 20 - 22, 2013.

Along with great activities like workshops and field trips, there are two speakers who have accomplished a great deal of work related to raptors and raptor conservation.  Dr. Keith Bildstein is the Director of Conservation Science at the Hawk Mountain Sanctuary in Pennsylvania.  He will speak on studies done with turkey vultures and striated caracaras.  Norman Smith, Director of Massachusetts Audubon's Blue Hills Trailside Museum, will speak on owls from snowies to northern saw-whets.
